Ex calls Phoebe up to several times a day, usually for no more than a minute or two. I generally put him on speakerphone so it’s easier for her to manage the phone, and so I can monitor the conversation.
The other day they were talking and I heard her say “I love you best”. I didn’t take it too personally, but I definitely rolled my eyes.
I have to add that lately she has frequently said “You are the best mom EVER” and “You are my favorite friend” and completely heart-melting avowals of that ilk. So it’s hard to complain.
